Family Wedding Time

I love a good wedding, last week my cousin got married. I think you will agree that planning an outfit for the occasion takes a lot of planning and consideration. How to have your hair? make up? what to wear? what shoes? what bag? The dress I wore I got months ago from a monsoon outlet store. I instantly fell in love with it.

I went for quite subtle make up, one because I didn't have a lot of time and secondly I felt as though the dress should get all of the attention and my make up should just compliment it. Pink blusher, pink lips and a pinky gold smoky eye effect.

Just before the wedding I nipped to a beauty salon down the road to get individual eyelashes put in. It literally took the girl 10 minutes to do where as if I would have done them it would have taken me 2 hours. I absolutely love them and one week on, I still have them in.

This is my cousin Neesha and a full length picture of my dress. For my hair I curled it using big barrelled curling thongs. I then clipped in an old necklace to jazz it up a bit.

I really like this picture as we weren't posing and it just captured us laughing instead.

Myself and mummy bear, thought I would throw this one in to show my shoes. They were from the Very catalogue but a couple of years ago.

Here I am with the beautiful bride, her dress was absolutely gorgeous and featured some 3d flowers which you can just about see at the back. It was such a lovely wedding, I can't believe it was a week ago now.

Three Work Outfits

Thought I would share three different outfits I wore to work last week. We had a little bit of sun so thought I would make the most of it and get my legs out while I had the chance. I work in an office so I have to dress quite smart. Also with it being a Golf Club there are certain rules about what you can and cant wear. This is pretty much my everyday style anyway but I do sometimes wish I could wear a checked shirt, jeans and some converse. (I apologise in advance for the dirty mirror and messy bedroom floor.)

Day 1 - I have had this skirt for years and I still absolutely love it, it was from the Very catalogue and the Love Label range. It was a little bit chilly so I teamed it with this long sleeve stripy top from Primark. I like the back of the top as there is a window of chiffon which is quite cool.

Day 2 - I got this dress last year from Primark and was only about £8. I have worn it quite a lot as you can wear it with tights, bare legged or in this case with leggings. I like how simple this outfit is. I think next time I would wear a statement necklace.

Day 3 - Slightly similar skirt to outfit one but longer and pink. This was in the sale from Asos earlier this year costing between £10 and £14. I love it, I always feel really elegant when I wear it. The top was a ridiculous £2 from Primark (seems to be a Primark theme going on.)

Waterfall Braid

I have been trying to do a waterfall braid FOREVER! Well not quite forever but I have tried a lot. I got my cousin to do one for me so I could see how she did it.

My cousin made it look so easy, she did this whole hairstyle in about 20 minutes.

I absolutely love this hairstyle, its a tricky one to get the hang of as I have found out but it looks so pretty. I also like the different tones in my hair and the contrast of the braid to the rest of my hair.

My hair was also loosely curled which I think compliments the braid perfectly. Love Love Love this hairstyle.

When I got home I just thought I would pop these hair pins in to see how it looked. I like it but think smaller ones would be more suitable.

Wedding Reception Outfit

Over the weekend I went to a wedding reception. Here is what I wore complete with accessories and make up.

Make up

I chose to be quite natural with my make up choices. I went for pinky tones with my blusher and lipstick. I put natural smoky shades on my eyes with a bit of silver to match my accessories. The lipstick in the picture is by Rimmel and is in the shade Pink Blush 006. I have always loved this shade and it smells so good, reminds me of sweets.

I wore this shade on my nails again to go with my accessories. It is by Rimmel and the shade is called 'Ethereal'.

Accessories

I got this clutch bag from Peacocks and was only £3 in the sale. I was going to buy this bag regardless of the price but I love it even more the fact that it is a bargain. It is so pretty and I thought it would compliment my outfit perfectly.

These are my new favourites. They are by redherring from debenhams and were £17.50 in the sale. Pom poms are in right now and I think I will be wearing these a lot especially around the festive period.

Here is a full length picture of me in my outfit just before we were about to leave (minus my bag). The top was from Peacocks costing £16 and the skirt I got a while ago from Asos. I love this outfit and can't wait to wear it again.

August Favourites

August Favourites Time....

This is my favourite ever blusher, however this time I decided to go for a different shade. I usually go for 'soft damson' which is quite pink, this one in 'coral flush' is more subtle and I really like it.

My mum and dad got me these from the airport, I am in love with every single one and am tempted to get them all in a bigger size. The colour is quite subtle but really glossy.

I have been loving this lipstick by collection in the shade tropical sunset. The colour is gorgeous and the staying power is amazing, it takes a lot of scrubbing to get it off but after applying it once it lasts sooooo long. Love this.

I have been loving blue nail varnish in general recently in all different shades.this one in particular has been one of my favourites. It's by Rita Ora for Rimmel in the festival inspired shade port-a-loo-blue. I could happily buy every colour from this collection, it is long lasting and very vibrant.

My hair was really dry last month so I needed something that rehydrated it pretty much instantly. This worked a treat, Elvive moisture rich shampoo and conditioner by Loreal. After using this for a month my hair looks and feels in much better condition.

I have needed some perfume for a little while so decided to treat myself to two. I went for Be Delicious by DKNY and Ghost Eclipse. Ghost Eclipse is a very summery scent and I tend to use it for a night out occasion where as the other one is more suitable for every day. I have been enjoying both scents.

These mint green patent shoes were an absolute bargain at £6 from new look in the sale. I had wanted these for a while so I am happy that I waited.

So this is a random one...I have been enjoying this Belvoir Raspberry Lemonade. It is so refreshing and tasty. I could drink it all of the time.

Wedding Hair Ideas

I have a couple of weddings coming up and thought it would be a good idea to trial some hairstyles. I had no idea what I wanted so looked for some inspiration on Google and worked with the hair accessories I have.

The first one I did was a bit of a messy side bun, I have done this with three different hair accessories to show how versatile it is. These pearl pins are really cute and could be used for so many other styles.

This is the back view, I just stuck a few around the bun.

These pins instantly make a hairstyle look that bit more formal and elegant.

I really love this 1920's style hair accessory, Its one of those that has a piece of elastic attached but I cut the elastic and attached it with bobby pins. I much prefer it.

This was from Accessorize however i got the head band a couple of years ago. Sooo pretty though!

Finally for this hairstyle I wrapped this floral Primark hairband around the bun for a delicate vintage look.

At the front I clipped a pretty headband in, you can't really see it properly but its pink and silver with flowers and leaves on from Newlook.

The back doesn't look too glamorous but I thought I would experiment by twisting pieces of hair and clipping them.

I tried really hard to do a waterfall braid, I attempted it for a good hour watching you tube videos but just could not get the hang of it. If anyone has any tips please comment as I would love to hear them so I can finally get the hang of it. I settled for a braid either side instead which I clipped either side.

I gave this floral headband a go just above the braids. I think this one is my favourite style.

If your feeling brave try a more adventurous hair piece. Like the one pictured above this can give you're hair that little bit more of a statement.
